About Apps and Girls
Apps and Girls is an esteemed, award-winning organization committed to empowering students and young women in Uganda and Tanzania to shape their envisioned world through technology.
To achieve this goal, we are implementing an innovative cyclical process of advanced coding and robotics training, entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and incubation. The process itself harnesses the power of digital technologies, notably through the creation of coding clubs in secondary schools, conducting robotics and STEM bootcamps, advanced IT & entrepreneurship training, an offline and online women’s tech entrepreneurship incubator, and e-mentoring to match emerging tech entrepreneurs with mentors.

Our Programs
Coding Training
Students learn how to create websites, and mobile applications by using different computer coding languages, business and entrepreneur skills enabling them to come up with tech-related business innovations in their respective communities.
Mentorship and Incubation:
We provide aspiring young entrepreneurs in our programs with mentorship and incubation services that direct and assist them in launching and growing their digital business ideas while providing them with extensive connections to numerous opportunities in the ecosystem.
Robotics Training
Hands-on robotics training to encourage problem-solving, engineering concepts, creative thinking, and a healthy sense of competition that drives innovation from students.

At Apps and Girls, our mission is to empower young minds, particularly girls, to excel in STEM fields. Mittina Joy’s inspiring journey showcases the transformative impact of our organization, highlighting the power of mentorship and opportunities in shaping aspiring engineers’ futures. From her humble beginnings with little knowledge of robotics, Mittina’s dedication, supported by our mentorship, led her to represent Uganda globally and win prestigious awards in STEM. Her success underscores the effectiveness of our programs in nurturing talent and fostering community support. As Mittina continues to inspire others, we remain committed to empowering the next generation of female leaders in technology, believing in the potential of young minds to change the world.
